maybe its just dirty
i think i know whats wrong with my sewing machine. i believe it needs to be cleaned and to have the needle replaced. i'm guessing sewing with wool felt can really dirty it up. anyway, i'm going to try that and if it doesn't work then i'll take it to the it-takes-a-week repair shop. i'd hate to leave it there and pay someone to tell me to take better care of my machine and clean the lint out occasionally. that would be embarassing.

Yeah, I really hate things like that, too.
I wish I could say that was the problem with my sewing machine which is also not working. I was sliding over a filing cabinet that the sewing machine was sitting on and there was not enough friction for the sewing machine to move with the cabinet so it slid off of the side. It flipped over and crashed on its head. I need to bring it down to get fixed. I hope your problem is more easily fixed.
