chronicles of lent: day 2
i'm not sure if that weight loss benefit is going to work out. i've done a very good job not eating sweet sugary things, but it's not like i'm not eating when normally i would have eaten something sweet. i'm compensating with other carbs. bowls of cereal or bread and butter. and even some fruit. oh well.
on a more spiritual note, God/praying/this easter season have been much closer to the front of my mind. which is the whole point, if i'm not mistaken.
last night i also realized, as mom did, that isaiah's birthday is coming soon. i'm still trying to decide whether i'll make an exception to eat some cake. my first thought is of course. then i think what for? what's so special about cake? and then i wonder if i should even make cake...? not that i want everyone to eat however i eat (although that is sooo much easier) but what so birthday specific about cake? maybe we could put a candle in something else. or is it just the fun of watching him make a mess. i'm sure we can find lost of potentially messy things. although as i think about it, i can just see isaiah thinking i deprived him when he looks back on the pictures ten years from now. "you were doing some crazy lent thing so you didn't let me have any cake????"

You make me laugh!!!! I am still hearing about depriving Bry from Hockey. you WILL hear about it. I guarantee it.
Most definitely, "How could you Mom?!"
just have Dave make the cake from a box and that way you can stay out of it. Believe me, after the party is over, you will not regret having skipped the cake!
I say, "Let them eat cake!"
