crying and painting

(sigh) i hate trying to teach isaiah to sleep. for the last two nights he has refused to sleep between about 3-5. and before that he's waking up every hour or so for several hours. so i decided that today we're going to relearn the sleeping thing. so the poor baby's crying in the other room and just won't fall asleep. (sigh) ellen and i painted last night. i'd been wanting to get her painting for a while and so i finally got some tempera paint from target and we went at it. ellen really likes making dots. (yes, that's mine with the blue square - ellen does not yet know how to draw shapes. she's not quite that genius) a little tip i learned from my handy dandy craft book for toddlers - add a couple drops of dishwashing soap to your paint and it comes right off of everything.
